When Deepika Padukone unveiled the first look of her upcoming film, Chhapaak, we all were left gobsmacked. The actress’ avatar of an acid attack survivor astounded us to no bits. Ms Padukone even earned praises for picking on a sensitive subject that depicts the real story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal.
Now, some pictures of the actress shooting for the film in Delhi have gone viral. In the photos, Deepika is seen in the complete get-up of an acid attack survivor with full prosthetics. The actress is seen stepping out of her car and waving to the fans. Here are the pictures:
By the looks of it, the shooting seemed to be happening in the busy bylanes of Delhi. Recently, the actress had shared an image of the film’s script on social media and captioned it as, “The only kinda homework I’ve ever enjoyed! #chhapaak.”
Earlier, in an interview with Bombay Times, filmmaker Meghna Gulzar had spoken up on choosing Deepika for the part. She had said, “I was instinctively convinced that Deepika would do justice to the character and the story. Also, her physicality matched with what I’d imagined for Laxmi’s character. I’m grateful and encouraged that she was so spontaneous in her decision to do the film. When you take a face as beautiful as hers and portray her as an acid attack survivor, the magnitude of the violence and damage is that much more resounding.”
Apart from Deepika, Chhapaak also stars Vikrant Massey as the actress’ partner, Alok Dixit.
